He has a successful orchestral professional playing career as a trombonist, having played with the London Sinfonietta, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and many more. For twenty years he was a member of Jubilate Brass, performing for all the major services and enthronement ceremonies in Canterbury Cathedral, which were often televised around the world. He is in high demand as a recitalist and adjudicator and has given master classes in some of the top schools across the UK, as well as at the Yerevan Conservatoire, Armenia.  As a soloist he has performed the Grondahl Concerto twice with orchestra and the Simon Wills Trombone Concerto under the late Malcolm Smith.

Dylan is certainly no stranger to the Brass Band movement having played with Desford Colliery Band in the 90’s playing under esteemed conductor Major Peter Parkes. Dylan is the latest of a long line of Brewer’s to play for St Dennis Band thus, continuing the dynasty. His Great Grandfather Francis (senior) Brewer played Bass Trombone for the band in the 1920’s. Dylan is married to his lovely wife, Davina and they are proud parents to their two young sons.

Dylan comments: “I am delighted to join my family band of St Dennis, Cornwall. Brass bands are an important part of music making and wellbeing in the UK and Europe, and now even more so, through online collaborative performance. I am looking forward to performing with the band and contesting at the highest level.”

Director of Music Mr Darren R. Hawken commented: ‘’I am thrilled and most delighted to sign a player and a professional musician of Dylan’s outstanding quality. To continually develop, progress and subsequently compete as an ensemble at a higher level is an absolute must. Our latest player acquisition is yet a further statement of intent to do just that going forwards. I warmly welcome Dylan to the band and I very much look forward to hearing his star qualities shine through the ensemble in abundance.’’
